Oh, yes, there really is such a thing. For example …

A Jesuit and a Franciscan were debating as to which religious order was the greater. Given all their rationals they couldn’t come to an agreeable conclusion. So they decided to pray for a sign and let God settle the matter. And as they did so a small piece of paper came floating down from the sky. With anticipation they grabbed up the sheet. It was a note. It read: “My sons, please do not argue over such trivial things. Signed, God, OSB.”
